【摘要】:SpecifiesPhysicalLayer,MediumDependent(PMD)requirementsfortheFibreDistributedDataInterface(FDDI).TheFDDIprovidesahigh-bandwidth(100Mbit/s)general-purposeinterconnectionamongcomputersandperipheralequipmentusingfibreopticsasthetransmissionmedium.TheFDDImaybeconfiguredtosupportasustainedtransferrateofapproximately80Mbit/s(10Mbyte/s).Itmaynotmeettheresponsetimerequirementsofallunbufferedhigh-speeddevices.TheFDDIestablishestheconnectionamongmanyFDDInodes(stations)distributedoverdistancesofseveralkilometersinextent.
