【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversclaytilesintendedforuseasroofcoveringwheredurabilityandappearancearerequiredtoprovideaweather-resistantsurfaceofspecifieddesign.1.2Tilesaremanufacturedfromclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringearthysubstancesandsubjectedtoheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentmustdevelopafiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementsofthisspecification(seefiringandfiredbondinTerminologyC43).1.3Tilesareshapedduringmanufacturebymolding,pressing,orextrusionanditispermittedtousetheshapingmethodtodescribethetiles.1.4Tilesaregenerallyplanarorundulatingrectangularshapesavailableinavarietyofcross-sectionalprofiles,shapes,sizes,surfacetextures,andcolors.1.5Threegradesoftilehavingvariousdegreesofresistancetoweatheringarecoveredinthisspecification.Threetypesoftilearedefinedtocoverthefeaturesthatinfluenceappearance.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
