【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofflexuralpropertiesofcontinuousfiber-reinforcedceramiccompositesintheformofrectangularbarsformeddirectlyorcutfromsheets,plates,ormoldedshapes.Threetestgeometriesaredescribedasfollows:1.1.1TestGeometryIAthree-pointloadingsystemutilizingcenterpointforceapplicationonasimplysupportedbeam.1.1.2TestGeometryIIAAfour-pointloadingsystemutilizingtwoforceapplicationpointsequallyspacedfromtheiradjacentsupportpointswithadistancebetweenforceapplicationpointsofonehalfofthesupportspan.1.1.3TestGeometryIIBAfour-pointloadingsystemutilizingtwoforceapplicationpointsequallyspacedfromtheiradjacentsupportpointswithadistancebetweenforceapplicationpointsofonethirdofthesupportspan.1.2Thistestmethodappliesprimarilytoalladvancedceramicmatrixcompositeswithcontinuousfiberreinforcement:uni-directional(1-D),bi-directional(2-D),tri-directional(3-D),andothercontinuousfiberarchitectures.Inaddition,thistestmethodmayalsobeusedwithglass(amorphous)matrixcompositeswithcontinuousfiberreinforcement.However,flexuralstrengthcannotbedeterminedforthosematerialsthatdonotbreakorfailbytensionorcompressionintheouterfibers.Thistestmethoddoesnotdirectlyaddressdiscontinuousfiber-reinforced,whisker-reinforced,orparticulate-reinforcedceramics.ThosetypesofceramicmatrixcompositesarebettertestedinflexureusingTestMethodsC1161andC1211.1.3Testscanbeperformedatambienttemperaturesoratelevatedtemperatures.Atelevatedtemperatures,asuitablefurnaceisnecessaryforheatingandholdingthetestspecimensatthedesiredtestingtemperatures.1.4Thistestmethodincludesthefollowing:1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardinaccordancewithIEEE/ASTMSI10.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
