【摘要】:Solutionviscosityvaluesforpolymersarerelatedtotheaveragemolecularsizeofthatportionofthepolymerwhichdissolvesinthesolvent.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesolutionviscosityofpolymersusingadifferentialorthemodifieddifferentialviscometer.Itisapplicabletoallpolymersthatdissolvecompletelywithoutchemicalreactionordegradationtoformsolutionsthatarestablewithtimeandtemperature.Resultsofthetestareusuallyexpressedasspecificviscosity,intrinsicviscosity(limitingviscositynumber),inherentviscosity(logarithmicviscositynumber),orrelativeviscosity(viscosityratio).1.2Sincethereismorethanonetypeofviscometeravailabletomeasureadifferentialpressure,followthemanufacturerx2019;sdirectionsapplicabletotheequipmentbeingused.1.3ThesolutionviscosityvaluesarecomparablewiththoseobtainedusingaglasscapillaryofTestMethodD2857.Thistestmethoddiffersfromtheglasscapillaryinthatthesolventandthesolutionarecomparedatthesametimethatatestisrun.Withaglasscapillary,eachsolutionmustbereferencedbacktothesolventruninthesamecapillaryatthesametemperature.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection8.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothistestmethod.
